Description:

The eucalyptus tree native to Australia and New Zealand is one of the highest trees on earth. In the literature, specimens are reported to have reached a height of approx. 130 metres.

The eucalyptus leaves can be vaporized in the vaporizer at up to 130°C.

Eucalyptus leaf effects:

Eucalyptus leaves have a disinfecting, germicidal and expectorant effect - e.g. in acute and chronic bronchitis.

Fields of application of eucalyptus:

Inhaling the vapours of the dried eucalyptus leaves can quickly relieve bronchial asthma, colds, bronchitis and catarrh. Eucalyptus is a plant that is perfect for phyto-inhalation therapy. If no leaves are available, a few drops of natural eucalyptus oil can be placed on a piece of paper tissue and placed in the inhaler. Since the essential oil is already released at comparatively low temperatures, there is no danger that the handkerchief will start to carbonize. This treatment is supported by rubbing a little eucalyptus oil on the chest and back. A local rub with this oil can be helpful in some cases with rheumatic and neuralgic complaints.

Side effects:

Eucalyptus_oil must not be applied to the face of infants, especially infants; rubbing in near the nose must be avoided. Some people may experience hypersensitivity reactions to the oil in the form of nausea and vomiting. However, these are harmless and disappear by themselves when inhalations are stopped. These reactions were not observed with the administration of eucalyptus as tea. An overdose, however, can trigger gastrointestinal disorders (vomiting, diarrhoea).
