Family: Saffron mallow plant - turneraceae
Plant parts used: Damiana leaves - damianae folium, Damiana herb - damianae herba.
Description: This herb originating from the south of the USA, Central and South America is usually not taller than 30 centimeters. It has alternate lancet-shaped and moderately hairy light green leaves with a toothed leaf margin. The small yellow flowers stand in the leaf axils.
Contains: Damiana contains essential oil (arbutin), resins, bitter substances.
Temperature settings: in the vaporizer: up to 190 °C

Damiana has a toning, slightly calming, aphrodisiac, relaxing effect on abdominal complaints & diuretic
Application of Damiana:
For inflammation of the urinary tract. Phyto-inhalation is often effective for headaches. Especially when mixed with clary sage, Damiana often has an excellent effect on menstrual cramps. Here, too, phyto-inhalation often has a better and more reliable effect than taking tea.
Damiana was best known for its aphrodisiac effect. If you have no problems with sexual activities, you will usually feel little or nothing of the influence of Damiana. However, if the sexual strength has already diminished, be it in old age, be it as a result of nervous exhaustion or similar factors, then Damiana can often provide effective help. For this Damiana must be taken in the form of a cure over at least 14 days. From the eighth day of such a cure, a clear wiking can be expected.
