Airvape's latest product, the AirVape Legacy, is the result of nearly two years of research, development and prototyping. The device features haptic feedback, super-fast heating and a 24k gold-plated chamber - all crafted in a beautifully designed housing with hemp textile accents and vegan leather. The Legacy Vaporizer can vape herbs and concentrates.

Design & Features

The Airvape Legacy has a height of 119 mm, a width of 52 mm and a depth of 21 mm. Together with the battery, the whole thing weighs 245 grams - so it's a pretty heavy device, but that's offset by the fact that it feels so smooth and supple in the hand. The hemp textile and vegan leather accents compliment the black metal body - visually, this is a really pleasing vaporizer.

The Airvape Legacy is packed with useful features - haptic feedback, adjustable temperatures from 93 up to 240° C, a fast 15-second heat-up time, a gold-plated heating chamber, a removable glass vapour path, optional on-demand heating, a session timer that shuts off after three minutes, and a draw motion sensor that turns the vaporiser off if it's not used for a minute during a session.

The Legacy's ceramic mouthpiece is tapered and stays cool - which definitely makes for a comfortable feeling when vaping. The airvape flips open to reveal the herb chamber and battery door. Under the battery door is the packaging tool that you can use to stir the herbs. The battery door can be opened to remove the replaceable 18650 battery and the glass vapour tube.

Performance

The 15-second heat-up time is pretty impressive, the device vibrates when it's ready and lets you know, so to speak. However, we recommend waiting a further 15 seconds and taking a few light puffs to start.

The Legacy's vapour production is pretty impressive, even when used at lower temperatures. The flavour became a little less intense and a little toasty towards the end, but that's just what happens when vaping herbs. The preset 3 minute session time is well chosen. We recommend stirring the herbs with the supplied tool during the session. This ensures more efficiency when vaporising.

AirVape Legancy Temperature Control

The Legacy has a fairly wide temperature range of 93°C to 240°C, which means it can get pretty hot inside. But the device stays cool, thanks to the well-placed hemp textile pads on both sides of the device

The Legacy is a pure convection vaporizer and can operate in Session or On Demand Modus, which means you get the most out of your herbs, meaning all the flavour and cannabinoids!

Battery power

The built-in USB-C charging works pretty well, charging the 3000 mAh battery in about forty-five minutes. However, the Airvape Legacy can also be charged wirelessly. There are special chargers that enable wireless charging. Of course, you can also simply plug the battery into an external charger with a power connection and charge the battery that way. Cleaning and Maintenance

The Airvape Legacy should always be cleaned of all herbal debris after use. This is important so that the device can function properly. When cleaning the device, special attention should be paid to the battery area. As there are several covers and small parts here. Under the battery cover there is a pull tab that is used to remove both the battery and the airway - please take some care here, pulling the tab too hard can cause the glass airway to pop away and break.

Despite all the extra precautions, the process of cleaning is no different from cleaning other herbal vaporizers.

Bottom line:

The AirVape Legacy is a well-designed portable vaporizer that is packed with features. However, we don't think a vaporizer needs to be that complex. But if you are looking for a vaporizer that looks great, has good battery performance and vapour production, you should definitely check out the Airvape Legacy. It delivers very good flavour and is ready for use after about 15 seconds thanks to its convection heating technology. The only negative thing we noticed was the somewhat fiddly cleaning process.
