Does the Angus Enhanced contain fiberglass in the vapor path?

Angus Enhanced Insulation

There are some forum posts and videos online that classify the Angus Enhanced as
dangerous and potentially harmful to health.
We would like to provide clarification and help you get a replacement for the affected devices.
The Angus Enhanced is designed in such a way that the airflow is separated from and
sealed off from the internal components.
Unfortunately, the first model contains loose insulation that was not encased. Over time, this insulation can begin to disintegrate and become increasingly fine.

At the top, the stainless steel air path has a green, heat-resistant O-ring seal.
In the lower area, a thick silicone gasket ensures a tight seal.
However, we cannot completely rule out the possibility that these seals may still allow something to pass through. We have opened several units and discovered fibers in the area near the air inlet.
That said, it seems unlikely that fibers could reach the lungs, as a screen in the herb chamber,
the herbs themselves, the resulting oils, and the upper screen should trap them.
Nonetheless, we cannot completely rule out the possibility.
We did not find any fibers in the upper chamber.

We still advise caution and recommend not using the device at this time

Safety comes first, and we urge all users of this model to stop using it and contact their retailer.

Devices purchased from us will be replaced with a new model or a different model of your choice (with a possible price adjustment).
A refund is also possible. Please send us an email at angus@verdampftnochmal.de.

The second model has insulation wrapped in a heat-resistant film to prevent any fibers from escaping inside the unit.
The airflow and sealing have been improved.
It might not look as sleek, but it’s designed to ensure the insulation cannot become loose, spread inside the unit, or reach the air path.

The air path is metal at the bottom and is inserted into the silicone seal near the air control, thus fully sealed.

How can I tell which model I have?

Our models have a label at the bottom.
If it says "VDN Berlin GmbH",
it’s the model with the heat-resistant film
and fully separated airflow.

The model with a different label was purchased from other wholesalers — this refers to the first series.

If you want to check which version you have yourself, you can remove the four screws on top and take off the lid.
You’ll need a 1.3 mm Allen key or a screwdriver.

The image on the right shows the model with the loose insulation.

The new model uses a cartridge-style insulation with a seal at both the top and bottom.
