Angus Enhanced Insulation

There are several forum posts and videos on the internet that classify Angus Enhanced as dangerous and harmful to health. We would like to clarify this and help you obtain a replacement for the affected devices.

Construction

The Angus Enhanced is designed so that the airflow is separated from the interior and sealed off from each other. Unfortunately, the first model had loose insulation that was not encased and can decompose and become finer and finer after a while.

At the top, the stainless steel air duct has a green, heat-resistant O-ring seal. At the bottom, a thick silicone seal ensures a tight seal. Unfortunately, we cannot rule out the possibility that these seals may allow some particles to pass through. We opened several devices and discovered fibers in the area of the air inlet. However, it is difficult to imagine that fibers could reach our lungs, as a screen in the herb chamber, the herbs themselves, the oils produced, and the upper screen should catch the fibers.

That does not mean that we can completely rule it out. We did not find any fibers at the top of the chamber.

Devices purchased from us will be replaced with a new model or another model of your choice, with a price adjustment if necessary. A refund is also possible. The second model has insulation and a heat-resistant film around it to prevent fibers from escaping into the device. The airflow and sealing have been improved.
It may not look pretty, but it is designed to prevent the insulation from coming loose and spreading throughout the device or even entering the airways.

The airway is made of metal at the bottom and is inserted into the silicone seal at the bottom of the air regulator, thus providing a complete seal.

How can I tell which model I have?

Our models have a type plate on the bottom. If it says “VDN Berlin GmbH,” it is the model with heat-resistant film and completely separate airflow.

The model with a different name was purchased from other wholesalers – this is the first series.

If you want to check which version you have, you can unscrew the four screws at the top and remove the cover. To do this, you will need a T6 Torx Allen key or a screwdriver.
