When searching for portable dry herb vaporizers online, you almost inevitably come across names like Norddampf Relict, Hammah, or Voity. On many comparison sites, in forums, and across social media clips, these models regularly receive top marks and prominent “test winner” badges, while the actual original devices from the manufacturer often remain completely unmentioned.
This was also an exciting topic at this year’s Mary Jane expo in Berlin: At our booth, we talked with many of you, including some who were using a Norddampf device. During our technical discussions and direct comparisons, many of you were surprised to discover that the exact same technology operates inside as in the models from Weecke, just at a noticeably higher price.
At this point: Thank you very much for the lively exchange and your honest feedback at the expo! It showed us just how great the demand is for transparent information about hardware origins and the mechanisms behind online buying recommendations.
Between Personal Preference and Hard Facts
In discussions at our booth, the same question came up repeatedly: Which vaporizer is truly the best device?
The answer has two sides. On the one hand, vapor volume, draw resistance, haptics, and aroma are purely a matter of personal preference: Everyone has their own individual habits when inhaling. Do you prefer an easy, open draw or dense vapor? Pure convection flavor or potent conduction? Quick micro-sessions on the go or relaxed vaping on the couch?
On the other hand, there are measurable, solid facts: battery capacity, heat-up time, heating elements, chamber materials, and above all, the question of where the actual base hardware originates.
A Look Inside: Who Is Behind the Technology?
This is where it gets interesting: The devices perform reliably in everyday use. That comes as no surprise, as the engineering is backed by the long-standing manufacturing experience of the manufacturer Weecke. Proven platforms operate behind the familiar model names:
Inside the Norddampf Relict works the technology of the Weecke Rush.

The Norddampf Hammah corresponds to the Weecke Viliz.

The Norddampf Voity is based on a compact OEM platform from Weecke, distributed internationally as the Ooze Brink among others.

OEM and White-Labeling: A Standard Practice in the Tech World
The fact that established manufacturers produce hardware for other brands (OEM / white-labeling) is completely standard across the tech world. At Verdampftnochmal, we also rely on proven manufacturing expertise for our own developments like our Cuboo Stick Pro.
The difference lies in transparent communication: When you clearly disclose who built a device and which original model is behind it, every buyer can decide for themselves and often get the exact same hardware substantially cheaper.
Why We Offer All Options at Verdampftnochmal
Some might wonder: If you educate customers about price differences, why do you carry Weecke as well as Norddampf and your in-house brand Cuboo in your shop?
The answer is simple: As an independent specialty retailer, we do not want to patronize anyone. Those who appreciate the specific design or bundled accessories of retail brands like Norddampf will find them in our range. However, those specifically looking for the best price-to-performance ratio reach directly for the Weecke original.
With our in-house brand Cuboo, we go one step further: We utilize established OEM platforms, optimize the hardware with features inspired by countless customer consultations (such as replaceable batteries or WPA mouthpieces), and pass this price advantage directly on to you without artificial marketing markups.
The Bigger Picture: Weecke as a Global Tech Supplier
This manufacturing model is widespread across the entire vaporizer industry. Platforms from Weecke have formed the technical foundation for numerous internationally recognized brands for many years.
A prime example is the extremely successful Fenix series with models like the Fenix Mini+, Fenix 2.0 MAX, or Fenix Neo, whose convection and hybrid systems rank among the best-selling devices worldwide. In the US, Planet of the Vapes sells variants based on these platforms, such as the POTV One, along with technical adaptations in the Lobo.
The US brand Healthy Rips also relies on this proven Weecke base for its well-known models Rogue 2 and Fury 3, while in Europe, the brand Wolkenkraft built its success with devices like the FX Mini Ultra or the ÄRiS Ultra on the very same platforms.
The same principle applies to the smallest model in the lineup: The compact entry-level device Voity is also sold worldwide under different names. In the US market, for instance, the exact same Weecke hardware sits on shelves as the Ooze C-Core Brink.
White-labeling is the absolute standard in the modern vaporizer industry, and nearly every major retail brand relies on specialized manufacturers like Weecke. On the one hand, this underscores the dependable build quality of these platforms, but on the other hand, it clearly demonstrates how vital genuine price and model transparency is for informed buyers.
Direct 1:1 Hardware and Price Comparison
Before examining the device pairs in detail, it helps to understand the underlying physics.
In the vaporizer segment, the heating system is the main factor determining flavor, efficiency, and production costs:
Convection (Indirect Hot-Air Heating): The herbs do not come into direct contact with the heating element. Instead, they are heated exclusively by the stream of hot air flowing through during inhalation. This preserves delicate terpenes and prevents the botanicals from cooking between draws. However, this design is structurally more complex and expensive to manufacture.
Conduction (Direct Contact Heat): The principle of direct heat transfer. The chamber walls heat up and transfer heat directly to the material. This is a technically simple, cost-effective design that heats up quickly and delivers dense vapor clouds. The trade-off: The material is constantly roasted, even when you are not drawing, causing flavor to drop off more rapidly after the first few hits.
Hybrid: A combination of both principles. In compact devices within this price and size category, direct conduction heat against the chamber walls almost always dominates in practice due to the compact form factor.
💡Good to know: Want to dive deeper into the thermodynamics and understand exactly how conduction and convection affect vapor quality, flavor, and efficiency? Find all the details in our comprehensive guide: Conduction vs Convection in Vaporizers: Differences and Tips.
In sponsored formats, solid conduction devices with aluminum chambers are also often compared to medically certified or complex hybrid devices (such as those from Storz & Bickel). While conduction is perfectly fine as a robust daily driver, its physical design delivers a completely different vapor experience than sophisticated high-end engineering.
Let us look at how these platforms are constructed and where the real differences lie.
Norddampf RELiCT vs. Weecke Rush: Entry-Level All-Rounders in Detail
Both the Norddampf Relict and the original Weecke Rush utilize the same handy chassis with a rubberized soft-touch surface. While this provides a non-slip grip in your hand, daily use over several months will cause wear along the casing edges. Both models use a combined dual-heating hybrid system where both the chamber walls heat up and the incoming air is preheated during draws.

Chamber & Vapor Performance
A striking feature of both units is the shape of the vaporization chamber: Instead of a deep, narrow cylinder, both devices feature a very flat, wide aluminum chamber. This wide aluminum bowl holds approximately 0.3 grams. It heats up in a brisk 25 to 30 seconds and is exceptionally easy to pack and brush out. In our hands-on experience, the contact heat is noticeable in the flavor profile: The first draws deliver pronounced terpenes, after which the taste transitions somewhat more rapidly toward typical toasted notes.

Chamber and Capsule Material Combination
The heating chamber is made of aluminum, whereas most dosing capsules are crafted from harder stainless steel. Inserting and removing capsules regularly can cause fine micro-scratches on the softer aluminum chamber walls over time.
Mouthpiece: Handling and Heat Build-Up in Daily Use
Because the heating chamber sits directly below the mouthpiece assembly, the top section warms up noticeably during extended sessions over 200 °C or back-to-back rounds. Short cooling breaks between consecutive sessions or switching to a longer glass mouthpiece provide an effective remedy.
In addition, the twist-and-lock mechanism of the unit is not entirely intuitive in daily handling: When trying to reattach the mouthpiece quickly, it is easy to align it the wrong way, requiring careful attention each time to ensure the guides latch smoothly.

Battery and Charging Behavior
Both devices use a built-in battery with a capacity of 2300 mAh. Quick battery swaps on the go are therefore not possible. A noticeable drawback in everyday use: Neither the Relict nor the Rush offers pass-through charging. The unit cannot be used while charging via USB-C. Once the battery is depleted, your session must pause until sufficient power has been recharged.

Electronics & Firmware
Both devices feature an OLED display with a rotatable screen (flip-screen via button shortcut), precise temperature control from 160 °C to 240 °C, and an adjustable session timer (3 to 6 minutes). The only software difference: When powered on, the Relict displays the brand logo, whereas the Rush boots with a neutral welcome screen. The control logic and menu navigation are 100% identical.
Included Accessories & Mouthpieces
Norddampf ships the standard Relict from the factory with a 45 mm glass mouthpiece included. The original Weecke Rush box includes the regular standard mouthpiece assembly. However, even if you purchase the optional glass mouthpiece for the Weecke Rush separately as an accessory, the total price still remains noticeably below the retail cost of the Relict.

Norddampf HAMMAH vs. Weecke Viliz: Compact Format with Glass Bowl
The Norddampf Hammah is based on the Weecke Viliz. The distinctive technical feature of both devices is the mouthpiece loading system: Herbs are not placed into the body, but into a small glass bowl integrated directly inside the mouthpiece.

Flavor & Handling
Because the airflow is routed directly through the glass element and the botanicals have no direct contact with a metal chamber wall, the aroma on the first few draws remains noticeably cleaner than in pure conduction devices.
With a capacity of approximately 0.15 g, the glass pod offers the ideal portion size for an intensive single session. The herbs are heated evenly, allowing you to enjoy the terpene profile alongside solid vapor production.

Cleaning Advantage
The mouthpiece along with the glass pod can be removed completely and soaked in isopropyl alcohol. The inside of the device remains virtually free of sticky residues.

Battery and Charging Behavior
Inside both models is a built-in battery with a 1600 mAh capacity that cannot be replaced on the go. For the compact design, this is sufficient for a few short single sessions; however, the pass-through function is also missing here: You cannot start a session while the unit is charging via USB-C. Anyone looking to vape must wait until charging has finished.

Operation
Four pre-programmed temperature levels (175 °C, 190 °C, 205 °C, 220 °C) are indicated via an LED status ring. Haptic vibration signals when the unit is ready to use.

Casing Finish and Durability
The Hammah is practically a Viliz in faux-leather attire. A slight weak spot regarding the haptics of the Hammah relates to the adhesive: Along the edges and seams of the outer casing, the glued synthetic leather can slowly peel away with frequent pocket carry over time.
Included Accessories
The accessory package (glass tubes, seals, screens, cleaning brush, USB-C cable) is practically identical for both devices straight from the factory.

| Typical Market Price | approx. €99.00 | €89.00 |
Hands-on Hardware Conclusion: Solid pocket hardware for on the go. Aside from slight visual tweaks to the wrap and branding, there are no technical differences, as both models originate from the identical assembly lines. With the original Weecke Viliz (€89.00), you secure identical performance for less money.
Norddampf VOITY vs. Weecke Compact OEM: The Entry-Level Session Class
The Norddampf Voity is based on a compact OEM platform from Weecke, distributed internationally as the Ooze C-Core Brink among other names.

Design & Operation
Like the other models, the Voity relies on a casing with a rubberized soft-touch surface that provides a comfortable grip. Inside, a direct conduction heating system operates. The integrated ceramic chamber holds approximately 0.3 to 0.5 grams of herbs. A single button controls the entire device, while preset temperature levels are indicated via simple color LEDs. There is no screen and no complex menu structure.

Cleaning Effort Caused by Housing Grooves
In the transition area between the mouthpiece and heating chamber, the housing features several fine grooves and crevices due to manufacturing design. When reloading quickly on the move, botanical crumbs and sticky residue easily collect there, requiring regular cleaning with a fine brush.
Fact Check on Infrared Support
Marketing copy for the Voity frequently highlights “infrared support via Ceramic C-Cells”. Technically, one should not be misled by this phrasing: Physically, every heated solid object (including any heated ceramic surface) emits thermal radiation in the infrared spectrum. This is not a patented proprietary feature, but simple thermodynamics when heating a ceramic bowl. The term simply refers to the standard ceramic heating elements used across OEM production.

Battery and Charging Behavior
By design, the battery in the Voity is also permanently integrated and cannot be replaced on the go. As with the larger models, pass-through charging is missing: The device cannot be used while charging via USB-C. When the battery runs empty, your session must pause until sufficient power has been restored.

Intended Use Case
Intended as a simple entry-level unit for portable use or absolute occasional users. Vapor output is solid, but due to its physical construction, simple contact heat does not deliver complex terpene profiles.
Included Accessories

Hands-on Hardware Conclusion: Simplest conduction technology in mini format. Works reliably, but belongs to the most economical production category. Skipping the custom branding saves €6.
Behind the Scenes: Why Do the Originals Rarely Appear on Top-10 Lists?
The direct comparison shows in black and white: The identical technology operates inside. Nevertheless, a valid question arises: If the Weecke Rush or Viliz delivers the exact same performance for noticeably less money, why do many portals write almost exclusively about the Relict or Hammah, often crowned with shiny “test winner” badges?
The answer lies not in inhalation technology, but in the commercial mechanisms of online marketing.
Omitting the OEM Base in Comparison Tests
An independent, well-founded product review always evaluates a device in the context of the entire market. When a branded model is showcased as an innovation while the identical Weecke original base is not mentioned with a single word, consultation quality suffers: Either technical background knowledge regarding OEM production is missing, or the original is deliberately omitted so as not to hinder sales of the more expensive branded version.
Affiliate Marketing: Profit Margins Drive Recommendations
Behind many review and comparison websites operate affiliate commission models. The underlying mechanics are simple:
- Higher Margins Through Branding: A white-label device with a significant price markup allows greater room for marketing budgets and influencer collaborations.
- Affiliated Portals and Niche Sites: Behind some seemingly neutral guides, top lists, or review blogs on the web stand the very same agencies and operators as behind the promoted retail brands. When a portal creates the impression of complete independence yet its own branded product consistently lands at the very top of the rankings, these are simply cleverly disguised sales funnels rather than genuine product tests.
- Rankings by Revenue: Platforms primarily list products in top spots that yield the most attractive commission per referred sale, not necessarily those with the best price-to-performance ratio for the customer.
Fact Check: Badges like “Test Winner 2026” or “Best Vaporizer” on private websites are editorial marketing graphics. In the vaporizer industry, there are no standardized laboratory certifications equivalent to Stiftung Warentest.
Accessories, Spare Parts, and Compatibility
Because the devices are built on identical OEM hardware, accessories and spare parts fit across brands. You are not tied to any specific brand name for wear parts or upgrades.
What Fits Together?
Lower Costs: Original parts from Weecke are usually noticeably cheaper than branded accessory kits.
Better Availability: If a part is out of stock with one brand, you can simply switch to the Weecke equivalent.
Norddampf RELiCT & Weecke Rush:
- Dosing Capsules & Liquid Pads: Capsules for dry herbs and concentrates fit both devices.
- Mouthpieces & Glass Attachments: Standard cooling unit, 45 mm glass mouthpiece, and water pipe adapters (WPA / bubblers) share identical connections.
- Screens & Silicone Seals: All gasket rings and fine mesh screens in the cooling unit can be swapped 1:1.
Norddampf HAMMAH & Weecke Viliz:
- Glass Pods: The glass chambers in the mouthpiece are structurally identical.
- Mouthpiece Seals: Silicone holders and filter screens along the vapor path fit across manufacturers.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Aluminum Chamber: Brush out the chamber right after your session while it is still lukewarm (not hot!). This prevents resin residues from baking on.
Glass Elements: Soak mouthpieces and glass pods in isopropyl alcohol for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water.
Use Dosing Capsules: Capsules significantly reduce chamber cleaning effort and keep the vapor path clean.

Conclusion: Hardware Facts Over Marketing Hype
In the end, it is simply about knowing exactly what you are getting for your money. You now know the technical foundation of the different models and can decide for yourself which device best fits your requirements.
Elaborate campaigns, paid social media reviews, and marketing cost money that is recouped through a higher retail price. Those who value specific housing finishes or pre-assembled bundles can comfortably choose the branded version.
However, if the built-in hardware and price-to-performance ratio are your primary priorities when vaping:
If you are looking for reliable technology in a compact format, choose the originals like the Weecke Rush or the Weecke Viliz and save real money. Keep in mind that the draw resistance across all three platforms is generally on the tighter, restrictive side due to their physical design.

If you are looking for a modern alternative in a handy format with adjustable airflow, take a look at our Cuboo Stick Pro: Here, we also rely on proven manufacturing partners, communicate this transparently, and offer you airflow control, a replaceable battery, pass-through charging while plugged in, and an integrated WPA mouthpiece for water filters, the exact features often missed elsewhere, calculated fairly without additional marketing markups.

Are original devices from Weecke of lower quality than the Norddampf models?
No. The devices roll off the exact same assembly line in the same factory. They use identical circuit boards, heating elements, sensors, and batteries, and are subject to the same ISO quality standards.
Do spare parts and accessories fit across brands?
Yes. Mouthpieces, dosing capsules, screen sets, and seals for the Weecke Rush or Viliz fit the Norddampf Relict or Hammah precisely (and vice versa).
Why do Weecke devices rarely appear on comparison portals?
Influencers and comparison sites finance themselves through affiliate commissions. Because retail brands with higher end-consumer prices can provide larger advertising budgets and commissions, they are given priority placement. Mentioning the cheaper originals would reduce these affiliate earnings.
Does the Golden Saga Edition of the Relict provide better vapor performance?
No. The built-in heating technology, electronics, and battery capacity are 100 percent identical to the standard Relict and the Weecke Rush. The higher price is due to the expanded accessory package in the box, the aesthetics, and the limited edition run.
Where can I test the different devices before buying?
We have the models available on site in our Verdampftnochmal retail store in Berlin. You can hold the devices in your own hands, compare build quality, and receive brand-independent advice from our team.
