Information and education about vaporizers and evaporators

Vaporizing – a gentle alternative to smoking to absorb the valuable active ingredients of herbs quickly and efficiently through the lungs.

How does vaporizing work?

The active compounds enter directly into the bloodstream without stressing the body’s circulatory system – in other words, there are no circulatory issues when vaporizing.

No cold hands, no palpitations, no sweating.

The body does not have to defend itself against the toxic substances produced during burning or smoking. Vapor feels very smooth in the throat, creating a pleasant sensation. This makes the overall effect feel natural and pure.

How can the active ingredients from herbs be vaporized?

Each plant material has a specific boiling point at which the essential oils and active ingredients are released and emitted in vapor form. Not all plant materials produce vapor but still provide flavor and effects. Peppermint, for example, feels very cool and gentle but produces little to no vapor.

What can be vaporized?

Basically all plant materials such as herbs, flowers, roots, or extracts.

How does vaporizing taste?

Vaporizing herbs and oils is a very intense taste experience, provided you have a good flavor-neutral vaporizer. It basically tastes as if you were eating or sucking on the plant materials. Not all medicinal herbs are tasty, and our taste buds vary, but what tastes good to us as tea or candy will also taste good when vaporized.

What is a vaporizer, also called a vaporizer or vaporizator?

A vaporizer is a heating device that can reach and maintain a specific temperature to vaporize herbs. The heated air is directed into the herb chamber using lung power, a membrane pump, or a fan. There, an air stream heated to about 190 °C passes through the herbs, warming them enough for the active compounds to be released and inhaled.

What types of vaporizers are there?

Most vaporizers operate with electricity and are tied to a power outlet, but there are exceptions.

We differentiate between:

Mechanical vaporizers

These devices do not require electricity. Some are heated directly with a jet flame or an induction heater and operate with a mechanical temperature control based on bimetal technology. They automatically heat up to a preset or manufacturer-specified temperature.

Electric vaporizers

The most common type. Here, either digital control, a bimetal system, or a potentiometer (rotary knob) manages the temperature. Some models also have a fixed preset temperature.

Whether compact for on-the-go or elegant for home – electric vaporizers come in stylish designs and various sizes.

The heating elements are made from a wide variety of materials – such as metal, stainless steel, resistance wires, or ceramic. There are many different heating methods, and not all deliver the same quality results – more on that later.

The required energy sources are: lighter, jet flame, electricity (power outlet), batteries, and butane. There are probably also some exotic options that work with solar energy or friction.

Inhalation Methods

Direct Inhalation

Direct inhalation using the user’s own lung power. The user controls the airflow speed and the volume of vapor.

Many vaporizers are designed for direct inhalation. Thanks to its efficient cooling coil, the Plenty delivers pleasantly cool vapor without throat irritation or coughing.

Balloon Mode

Some vaporizers have a pump or fan that pushes hot air through the herbs to fill a bag. Afterwards, the vapor can be inhaled from the bag (balloon).

An Arizer XQ2 vaporizer with an attached and filled balloon sits on a wooden table. In the background, a blurry white brick wall is visible.
With its integrated fan, the Arizer XQ2 conveniently and efficiently fills inhalation balloons.

How much does a vaporizer cost?

A good vaporizer doesn’t have to be expensive: entry-level models are available from around 40 Euros. Those who value extra comfort, design, and durability can also find premium devices that can cost over 600 Euros.

The best part: even the entry-level models provide a pleasant vaping experience – and we carefully test every device to offer you only the best quality.

We sort out inferior products immediately so you can just sit back and relax!

What should I consider when buying a vaporizer?

Primarily pay attention to the quality, warranty, and customer service of the manufacturer. Check the materials used! Make sure you understand which heating technology (heating element) is used.

Which vaporizer is right for me?

Over time, we have gained a lot of experience and tested most vaporizers on the market. Poor materials in a vaporizer can affect the taste and even release harmful emissions. Even metals in the hot airflow release ions that are absorbed when inhaled.

Many might now say: “Okay, let’s not exaggerate.”

Of course, every household has electrical devices that emit substances and are actually unhealthy. The key difference: when vaporizing, we are talking about inhalation, i.e., the direct intake into the bloodstream.

That’s why it is particularly important to pay attention to the material quality and to avoid plasticizers, heavy metals, solder, steaming capacitors, or other electronic components in the airflow.

If you have the opportunity, test some devices with friends or at our store. This way, you can also find out whether a vaporizer is really right for you.

Maintaining the devices is also an important point. We have also written a guide for this.
